This new year marks the beginning of some new contracts for some top pros, including Sean Malto. He has left Etnies to ride for Nike SB, after months of rumors of Adidas. Congrats Sean!

With the year wrapping up and Christmas just around the corner, it seems fitting to take a look at some of the BEST Nike SB Dunk Lows of 2011. This year had some GREAT releases so it was hard to narrow it down, but heres our best shot!

5. Nike SB Dunk Low - Purple Safari

The Purple Safari Dunk Low took inspiration from the show Eastbound and Down, and was based on the colorway of Kenny Powers Jetski from Season 1. This Purple Suede and Safari Print skate shoe was released in February and people are stilling trying to hunt a pair down. If you're looking for a bright, flashy, purple skate shoe, this is the Dunk for you.

4. Nike SB Dunk Low - US Passport

The US Passport Dunk Low is the newest Dunk of the year, and by far one of the best. This low top suede skate shoe is designed to mimic the US Passport, and features an embossed suede upper with gold stitching. If you are looking for a toned down low top skate shoe, this Dunk will be perfect. Great for skating, with the back-story and appeal of any other rare Nike SB Dunk.

3. Nike SB Dunk Low - Iron

The Iron Dunk Low that dropped mid-way through the year is one of the most anticipated Dunk Lows in a while because it was an exact replica of a very popular High Top of the same colorway. This low top comes in all suede, with a cool grey and light blue color scheme. An all around good looking shoe that stands out to any fan of Nike SB and Dunks.

2. Nike SB Dunk Low - Roller Derby

The Roller Derby Dunk Low is one of the coolest Dunks to ever be released. This Red and White Dunk features wood grain and cackle panels as well as an embroidered #10 on the front. This low top pays homage to old school roller derby skateboards and coincides with the opening of the Skateboard Museum. This is one of the all time best Dunk Lows and SB releases in general.

1. Nike SB Dunk Low - Space Jam

This is by far THE MOST ANTICIPATED Nike SB Dunk Low to ever be released. The hype for this thing grew for months and people lined up 5 days early around the country just hoping to get themselves a pair. The shoe takes it inspiration from the Jordan that matches the exact colorway, which makes it a HUGE deal for Nike SB to release these. If you can find a pair for under $250, consider it a good deal, because these are BY FAR the #1 SB dunk Low of 2011.

Word on the street right now is that due to issues with rights to the Entourage name, the Nike SB Dunk Low "Lights Out" or "Entourage" dunk, been canceled. Right now this has not been 100% confirmed, but it sounds pretty believable. The shoe will most likely be released around New Years with a "Lights Out" theme, and no Entourage branding. If you have a chance to get your hands on a pair of the already released pairs or samples, GOOD FOR YOU! These things are going to be worth some serious cash and rumor has it a good number of these DID get released to certain people, so if you can catch a pair on eBay you better grab them!

We just came across a handful of NEW PICTURES of the Nike SB Entourage Dunk Low. This quickstrike Dunk Low will be released in January 2012. The original pictures floating around on the web are of the SMALL and LIMITED release given to cast/creators of the show. The NEW and Quick Strike release feature a GUM sole instead of a Black sole. They also DO NOT say Entourage on the label. Check out the pics below:

One of the most anticipated releases of the year, and maybe the past few years, the "Entourage" Dunk Low was originally set to be released on Black Friday (the day after Thanksgiviing). Nike reps are now telling their accounts that the shoe will be DELAYED until January most likely. No official reasons have been given for the delay, but we do know that the Quickstrike for November 2011 is the star-wars inspired "Tauntaun" Dunk High. The November 2011 Quickstrike release for Nike SB will be this Star Wars inspired Dunk High. The "Tauntaun" Dunk High takes inspiration from a species of characters from Star Wars that live in an icy planet. As you can see in this picture below, this is where the cool blue colors come from.

This high top skate shoe will feature a mostly canvas upper with cool blue and grey colors. Expect to see this Dunk released in place of the "Entourage" dunk that was supposed to come out in November, but has now been delayed.

UPDATE: The Tauntaun Dunk High is now arriving at shops across the country. These shoes look MUCH better in person. They feature a mix of premium materials, all thicker and warmer, perfect for the winter season. Be sure to contact your LOCAL SB dealer or hit up eBay before its too late to get a pair of these!

This month Nike SB plans to release these "Roller Derby" Dunk Low Pro SB as the October 2011 Quickstrike. Considering the early arrival of the October releases, its probably going to be any day now that people begin seeing these Dunks pop up in their store. The Roller Derby Dunks pay homage to roller derby and the Skateboard Museum (as seen on the insole). The shoe features a two tone colorway with red and off white. Different materials, including a cracked leather and wood pattern suede make up most of the shoe, and a black swoosh makes it pop. The shoe also features "#10" on the ollie area. Check with your LOCAL SB dealer in the next few weeks to get your hands on a pair!

The Roller Derby Dunk Low will be officially released THIS SATURDAY, October 15th. There are already a good bit floating around on the web, so grab them before they are completely SOLD OUT! The price on these things is $98 suggested retail, but GOOD LUCK finding a pair for under $175.

It seems like Nike SB has been dropping their monthly releases a little early the past few months. Shops around the country are already posting up their October releases, even with a week left in September. This month features a nice variety of styles and colorways, including Dunk Mids, Janoskis, Janoski Mids, Kostons, and more. Nike SB Janoski - Team Red - First up is this clean team red Janoski. The all suede shoe features a team red upper with black piping, black swoosh, and white outsole. These are the first of many this month featuring the team red colorway. These will be a skater-favorite, I'm sure.

Nike SB Blazer - Team Red - This classic high top skate shoes features a million color options and Nike did everyone a favor here by releasing one of the best to date. This all suede team red Blazer features a black swoosh and white sole. This shoe is perfect for the fall and with the all suede upper, it'll be another one skaters are gonna love.

Nike SB Dunk Mid - Stealth/Black-Dragon Red - This Dunk Mid already has 2 nicknames, the "Red Dragon" and the "Un-Supreme". The shoe features a suede elephant print on the toe and heel, with some black panels and a red sole and swoosh. This is the best Dunk Mid released in a LONG TIME and is sure to be a hot seller.

Nike SB Janoski - Black/White-Metallic Gold - The latest Stefan Janoski Premium features an all black perf leather upper with a white sole. This shoe is super clean and steezy, and matches up great with the White Perf Janoski that came out earlier this year. These Premium Janoskis never last long so be sure to get them before its too late!

Nike SB Koston - Black/White-Pimento - This Koston is probably the cleanest colorway yet. An all black suede upper, a white swoosh, and a hit of red on the sole to make it pop. This shoe has been very well received and pretty much anyone who tries a pair on falls in love.

Nike SB killed it with the "White Perf" Janoski and now they're following up with a super steezy Black perf Janoski. This shoe features an all black perforated leather upper on a clean white rubber sole. These guys drop in October but it looks like some shops are already getting them. Be sure to get a pair before these ones are gone. If you have the white ones then this is the perfect addition to the collection.

The Nike SB Janoski has been their best selling shoe of the past 2 years and it seems like they are finally running out of the basic colorways and moving on to some more creative things, much like they do with Dunks. This photo shows a sample pair of "Wino" or "Freddy Kruger" Janoskis. The shoe has no release date yet, but is sure to be popular when it does drop. The shoe features an off white canvas upper covered in dark red splatters, supposedly to emulate the effect of spilled wine. Check out the pictures below and let us know what you think!

Nike SB has teamed up with Todd Bratrud again for another EXCLUSIVE dunk high that is sure to be a great seller. If you remember, Bratrud created the Nike SB Dunk Skunk and the Cheech and Chong Dunk. This latest high top skate shoe features brown panels with camel suede panels throughout. The laces and swoosh come in a complimentary burgundy. The sole features charcoal and a grey.

The collaboration with the legendary Skatepark of Tampa pays homage to Tampa, "Cigar City". The side panel features a cigar wrap look and the entire shoe draws inspiration from a cigar. What a bummer! After over 15 years in business eS Footwear has decided to go on "hiatus" for a while. Im assuming this means they are out of business. eS has been weening down in popularity over the last few years but in the late 90's they had the BEST team in skateboarding and some of the most popular shoes of all time (Accel,Sal, Koston 1, Arto, etc). eS will be sorely missed by anyone who skated in the 90's.

For anyone interested in getting some shoes before they're gone, eS will be distributed through their Sprint 2012 line, which means that they should still be around into early next year. Thats right, Lil Wayne is now a full blown skater! As weird as it sounds, it seems like he's really actually into it, unlike some other superstars who use the skateboard as an accessory or to reach a different audience. This isn't the only sighting of him skating either, he has been seen ALL OVER the US at different skateparks within the past few weeks learning new tricks every day. These pictures have been floating around the net lately and getting a lot of hype. Well we now have a few new pictures and a much better look at the velcro Janoski that will be releasing this August as a quickstrike. The shoe features no laces this time, but instead will have 2 velcro straps to keep them on. The shoe is an all leather matte black with a white sole. These look really good and definitely switch it up from the same old boat shoe. Be sure to grab these from your local shop really quick, I've heard that they will be releasing under 1,000 pairs. Im curious to see how many people actually skate in a velcro skate shoe. No laces to rip!

According to adidas employees, Sean Malto will be joining the Adidas skate program at the end of the year when his Etnies contract expires. Sean is already working with Adidas designers to create his pro model shoe. Malto, who currently rides for Etnies, is a major player in the contest circuit and won the Street League contest last year. Adding Malto to their roster will be a huge move for Adidas, who currently only has a few pros and not too many big names other than Dennis Busenitz. Adidas plans on introducing an entire Malto line, similar to the P-Rod line from Nike SB. I think Malto on Adidas would be a great fit. He has a huge following and Adidas could use it, especially since Etnies just doesn't seem like they're going anywhere. They've kind of labeled themselves as a mall brand, while Adidas is starting to gain some legitimacy in skateboarding.
